Bumped Up in Salt Lake
/Proof that you can work your way up from the ground floor.
in 2012, Kelsey Montero joined KSTU as an Associate Producer, which you all know, is just barely one step above Intern and peon.
After being bumped up to Producer a few years ago, Montero has been named the dayside EP at the station.
Which should give hope to all you AP's that are sick of getting the Anchors coffee and making beat calls.
Here's the internal memo, obtained by FTVLive:

Subject: New Dayside Executive Producer
Importance: High
Please join me in congratulating Kelsey Montero on her promotion to Dayside Executive Producer at Fox 13.
Kelsey joined KSTU as an overnight Associate Producer in 2012 after receiving her degree from Brigham Young University. She quickly established herself as a dynamic line producer and a committed journalist, capable of handling any situation – from big breaking news to “slow” news days. For the past three years, Kelsey has produced Fox 13 News at Nine.
The search for her successor begins immediately.
