We Told You....
/You know how much FTVLive hates to say, "We told you so..." (who are we kidding? We love saying that), but we told you so.....
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that Romona Robinson is no longer the co-anchor on the 11 p.m. newscast at WOIO Channel 19.
We first tipped you off that this was going to happen back in Sept of 2015. Then, a month ago we told you it was happening.
The Raycom station has announced that the new late news anchors are Tiffani Tucker and Chris Tanaka. They also are co-anchoring Channel 19's 5 p.m. newscast, as well as sister station WUAB Channel 43's 9 and 10 p.m. newscasts.
Robinson continue to co-anchor the station's 4 and 6 p.m. newscasts with Mark Nolan.
So how is the station spinning it?
The paper says that Robinson had been co-anchoring the 11 p.m. newscast with Denise Dufala, who left the Cleveland CBS affiliate station in December. Dufala said she left to "spend more time with her family" (never heard that one before).
"Tiffani has been here a long time for us, and we think she's going to do great," said Erik Schrader, WOIO general manager.
"At the same time, Romona reached a time in her career when she wanted to spend more time with her husband, and we were excited to find a way to keep her here, honor her wishes and still have a great 11 p.m. news."
