Chicago Anchor Suspended over Trump Tweet

FTVLive has been advising Journalists to keep their political opinions to themselves, especially on social media. 

A Chicago Anchor did not and now he's suspended. 

Longtime WLS (Chicago) Sports Anchor Mark Giangreco, sent a tweet Sunday, which referred to President Donald Trump as a "cartoon lunatic" and America as "a country full of simpletons."

That tweet got the Sports Anchor benched. 

"Sports anchor Mark Giangreco's Twitter comments are not in line with ABC 7 Chicago's non-partisan editorial standards," said the ABC O&O in a statement. 

Efforts to reach Giangreco for comment through his agent Thursday were unsuccessful.
