Singing the Blues

As the book starts, look for longtime Anchors to announce that they will be leaving the station at the end of February or announcing it in Feb and leaving in May (the next book).

Lafayette Anchor Blue Rolfes is kicking off the retirement announcements, by telling viewers she is done at the end of the Feb. book.

After almost 40 years on the air at KLFY, Rolfes has decided she will retire.

Rolfes said she plans to “start a new chapter in her life” and is planning on starting a new job in March. She would not say where or what she will be doing.

“This has been in the works for months,” Rolfes said. “It’s nice to finally be able to talk about it. But I can’t say anything (about where) until my new boss decides to make the announcement. That is something I promised them.”

“I love everybody here,” she said. “You know, it’s just in your blood. I’ll miss my work doing advocacy for animals and always knowing what is going on in the world. But I’ve never felt more sure about something. I really feel like I’ve gotten to do everything I wanted to do here. I’m so excited about the future. “
