Hearst owned WLWT (Cincinnati) has made a new weather hire.

The station announced that they have hired Allison Rogers as their weekend meteorologist.

She replaces Erik Zarnitz, who left in October.

Rogers had been a meteorologist and reporter for WYMT, the CBS station in Hazard, KY.

"Allison's experience, both in the studio and covering extreme weather in the field, makes her an excellent addition to the WLWT Weather team," said News Director Jeff Benscoter.

Rogers grew up in Mississippi and said she decided to become a meteorologist after witnessing the destruction of Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

The hiring of Rogers means that Channel 5 has turned over half of its four on-air weather positions – and both weekend meteorologists -- since May.

Rogers replaces Zarnitz, who left the station in October after seven years. Ashley Brown was hired in July as weekend morning forecast after Jennifer Schack quit in May after the birth of her third child.
