Tegna has all but gutted their Tampa station WTSP.

They have gotten rid of high priced talent and replaced them with lower salary employees. The station has also basically given up when it comes to covering news and now it's just mainly stories about the latest trends on social media.

Ian Reitz who joined WTSP in the Summer of 2014 has left and is resurfacing in Alabama.

WVTM (Birmingham) announced that they have hired Reitz as their new Anchor.

Reitz will appear on WVTM 13's evening newscasts, joining Guy Rawlings, Lisa Crane and Sheri Falk, meteorologist Jerry Tracey, and sports director Don Hawes.

"Ian brings depth and experience from covering multiple communities around the country," Hank Price, WVTM 13's president and general manager, said in today's release. "We know he will be a great addition to our evening news team."

"I'm really looking forward to joining the WVTM team and working with them to cover and serve the greater Birmingham community," Reitz said. "It's a very talented group and I'm honored and excited to work alongside them. My family and I are eager to settle in and make Central Alabama our home."
