After 2 decades on the air, WAAY Anchor Erin Dacy is leaving the business to sell homes.

Dacy says she is signing off from television to concentrate on her real estate business.

"My two passions are raising my children and creating opportunity," she wrote. "In my new business endeavors, I'll be able to do that full time by investing in equities and real estate, and creating construction jobs. I especially enjoy helping young people start out in a great house they will be proud of."

Dacy began working at Tuscaloosa's WCFT in 1991, before moving to Huntsville two years later, according to her station biography. A native of San Antonio, Texas, she filled several news slots over the years at WAAY.

"WAAY will always be a source of pride for me," she stated on Facebook. "I grew up on the air with many of the most loyal viewers in the country. It's humbling to speak at meetings and events, meet you at restaurants, bump in to you at Bridge Street, or share in fellowship at church. For your trust - I have no method of repayment - except to give you a sincere thanks."
