Former Reporter Turns to Acting

For 5 years, Anna Yee worked as a Reporter at WEEK-TV in Peoria.
Later this month, she'll be back on the station in prime-time as an actor on the NBC show Chicago Fire.
Yee left TV news for the world of acting and while she has appeared in commercials and other programs, the “Chicago Fire” role is her first speaking part on a network show.
She can’t divulge much about it, but she did say she gives someone important information.
“It’s not that much,” Yee said. “I’m in one scene.”
That scene was filmed Sept. 13 in Chicago. The entire process took about four hours, Yee said.
The episode is scheduled to be telecast Oct. 26, although that might change, Yee said.
Eventually, Yee is likely to take her chances on one of the coasts, probably the West one, to further her acting career, she said. But she didn’t rule out a return to TV news. She said she had no complaints about her time on Peoria TV.
“I think that’s something that I will know is right when it happens,” Yee said. “I wanted to come back home for a little bit after I graduated (from college). I got to do that. If it’s meant to be again, it will happen.”
