Going to the Dark Side

Back in September, FTVLive told you that WRIC Reporter Parker Slaybaugh was leaving the Nexstar station and we wondered if he had something else lined up. 

It appears that he did and he's moving to the dark side.

Virginia House of Delegates Speaker-designee Kirk Cox announced on Monday that Slaybaugh will serve as his Communications Director.

Slaybaugh started his mouthpiece gig immediately. 

“I am honored to join Speaker-designee Cox’s team and look forward to elevating the level of political discourse that is plaguing our country,” said Slaybaugh.

“We are thrilled that Parker is choosing to bring his extensive journalism background and expertise in the news industry to our team,” said Speaker-designee Cox (R-Colonial Heights). “Parker has built a name in Virginia as a well-respected professional, receiving many prestigious awards acknowledging just that. He will join an already impressive team committed to serving the people of Virginia. Slaybaugh will also work closely with members of the House of Delegates as we build on our work over the last 15 years.”
