Someone Gets It

When it comes to the Sinclair/Tribune merger, at least one FCC Commissioner gets it.

In the end, it won't amount to a hill of beans, but hats off to  FCC Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel for shinning the truth on this merger that will have a negative impact on the TV industry for years to come.

"For decades, at the direction of Congress, the Commission has maintained limits on the number of broadcast stations that a single company can own," Rosenworcel said. "These limits were designed to help sustain media diversity, localism, and competition."

"I am concerned the Commission is gearing up to approve a transaction that will hand a single broadcast company the unprecedented ability to reach more than 70 percent of American households," she said.

Sinclair knows the deal is all but a lock and has even gone so far as to send Tribune employees a letter about what happens when they take over their company.

Sinclair has sucked up to the people that needing sucking up to. They got in bed with Donald Trump and they greased a lot of palms.

The deal is going to be approved, it was always going to be approved.

And television will be worse off because of its approval.
