Moving From the Cop Shop to the Newsroom
/Here's a switch....
Often you see TV news people leave the business to become the PIO at some local police department.
Well, this time it's the opposite.
James Keith, who spent the past three years as chief communications officer for the Bexar County Sheriff's Office, is joining KENS (San Antonio) as an investigative multimedia journalist.
Keith does have a background in television news. He was a weekend Anchor and Assistant News Birector for KABB. He was in charge of the investigative team for KABB and WOAI before joining former Sheriff Susan Pamerleau's staff in 2014.
"James has a long history here in San Antonio, and we're thrilled to be adding him to our team," said Jack Acosta, KENS News Director.
"I grew up in south Texas watching KENS 5 newscasts with my grandma," Keith said. "I looked up to anchors like Chris Marrou and others at KENS 5 and decided I wanted to work in TV."
