Out the Door in KC
/The revolving door at KHSB continues to spin.
It seems that not everyone wants to work with a legend. Sources tell FTVLive that KSHB meteorologist JD Rudd and his wife KSHB reporter Alyson Bruner are leaving.
KSHB News director Carrie Hofmann announced Rudd's departure and replacement in an internal email, obtained by FTVLive.
Here is what Hofmann said in the email:
JD Rudd will soon be moving on to a new opportunity. JD isn’t ready to reveal where he’ll end up, but we wish him well. JD has been with us for 3 years and we and the viewers have enjoyed his approach to weather. He has a great way of telling and showing the weather story that is easy to understand. He has also been instrumental in keeping our WSI system up to date and building many new, unique graphics. His last day will be in mid-October.
We have hired Gerard Jebaily to replace JD. Gerard currently works as a meteorologist in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina at WPDE. He has covered his fair share of severe weather. He developed his passion for weather when he was younger and continues to share that love with viewers. He is also very tech savvy, having built his own personal storm chasing vehicle which he uses at his current station. We are excited to have Gerard join our team on Monday September 26th.
No announcement yet of Bruner's departure.
