Elliott Wiser and Tegna Part Ways

FTVLive FIRST told you yesterday, that the GM at WTSP (Tampa) was out at the Tegna station. 

Elliott Wiser, who has been at the station for just under3 years, "Resigned" and a staff meeting has been called for 10:30AM this morning to discuss the direction of the station. 

Peter Diaz, Executive Vice President of Tegna told the staff of Wiser's departure in an internal memo, obtained by FTVLive: 

The Red Seat Ventures team that Diaz talks about in the memo is Joel Cheatwood's company. In a good move, Tegna has hired Cheatwood's company to consult some of Tegna stations. 

Tegna, one of the better media companies has been frustrated with the performance of WTSP and sources say they look at this as an opportunity to bring in a new GM that will unite the staff towards one goal. 

As for Wiser, he posted to Facebook that he is looking at moving a new direction in life away from the media:
