Millions Could Lose NBC from their Cable

NBC and Charter Communications are in an end of the year pissing match, that could see NBC blacked out.

The NY Daily News says that the current contract between the two companies expires on Jan. 1, and the standoff could result in the loss of dozens of NBCU’s channels for more than 16 million subscribers, including about 1 million in New York.

Charter Communications acquired Time Warner Cable and Bright House Networks in May, rebranding the merger as Spectrum.

If no new deal is reached by the new year, Charter would be unauthorized to distribute NBC channels, including the Sunday Night Football matchup between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers.
