Changes Going Down in Columbus
/WBNS in Columbus is just one step below full panic mode.
The station has watched ratings fall, the station has held off site meetings with staff trying to find something that will work.
FTVLive obtained an internal memo that shows that some on air talent is being shifted around.
Here's the memo:
We have been working hard towards regaining market dominance. You have given newsroom leadership your feedback through off-sites, meetings, surveys and conversations. We've listened and appreciated your input. We've also acquired significant field research in the effort to be grounded in solid data.
This information and the ratings tell us it’s time for a change.
We are now presented with a unique opportunity to strengthen our show execution across the board. Jeff Hogan is taking the reins of our weekend evening news. This new role will include three days of dayside presence where Jeff will evolve our Commit to Be Fit franchise in the 90 and serve as a field/fill-in anchor. Jeff’s 10TV fan base and considerable market knowledge makes this a win for both the 90 and our weekend success.
During any transition, consistency is key. To that end, Tracy Townsend will anchor mornings in addition to the noon for a couple of months. This keeps a strong, consistent team in place. I will have more on the long-term morning plan in the months ahead.
Thank you for all your hard work during this time of transition. If you have questions, please come talk with me, I always welcome your feedback, thoughts and ideas.
These changes go into effect the week of January 16th.

Also, current Weekend Anchor Evan Anderson is packing up and headed to Dallas. Here is another internal memo obtained by FTVLive:
Some news to share ~ Evan Anderson will be leaving WBNS in January.
We are sorry to see him go but happy to share that he is heading home to be a weekend morning anchor for KXAS in Dallas!
Texas is Evan’s home and it’s always nice to have the opportunity to do what you love at home!
We thank Evan for all his hard work while here at 10TV and wish him well in this next adventure.
Evan’s last day with WBNS will be Tuesday, January 10th.
Plans for weekend staffing are underway and announcements are forthcoming.
