Houston Anchor Off the Air

Longtime Houston Anchor Dave Ward had planned on retiring from his Anchor role next week on KTRK.

But, it appears that those plans are now on hold. 

Yesterday, Ward underwent open heart surgery.

KPRC Anchor Bill Balleza took to Facebook to tell viewers about Ward's situation:

Ward made history in November when he reached a milestone of Anchoring the news on KTRK for 50 years. 

Let's hope he can return soon for a proper goodbye.
