Charlotte Station Cancels Newscast

Many times when stations face technical difficulties, they find away to get the news on the air.

Stations have aired newscasts win just one camera and no video. I have seen stations take to the parking lot and do a newscast from a live truck. Some have streamed the newscast to their social media or website. 

WSOC did none of those things, they just threw in the towel and canceled the newscast yesterday. 

"Coverage you Can Count On"? Pfffft....hardly. 

“Huge technical problems,” news director Julie Szulczewski told the Charlotte Observer. 

I miss the days when stations put on a newscast no matter what. 

I think if WSOC tried, they could have done something better than just pull the plug.

Lazy way out.
