Tagboard Captures Capture
/The best social media tool for TV stations, Tagboard made a big announcement this morning.
The Seattle-area based company announced Today they will acquire Capture Media, Inc. for an undisclosed amount.
Founded in 2012 and based in New York City, Capture created a product for news and media publishers to search, request, and publish users’ social media photos/videos on their websites, TV stations, and other properties.
In addition to their publishing product, Capture has built a live video publishing platform, allowing news agencies to tap into the power of user generated live video. This acquisition strengthens Tagboard’s already robust product offerings and bolsters their position as a leader in the social discovery and display market.
In other words a great company like Tagborad, just got greater and that is good news for TV stations that are signed on with Tagboard.
“This opportunity presented itself at the perfect time. We had already begun the process of launching a New York office, and that is when we started talking to Capture about potential partnership opportunities,” said Josh Decker, Tagboard’s Founder and CEO. “As soon as we began discussions, it became apparent that our companies were very similar in culture, values and goals. Our talks almost immediately shifted toward acquisition. We truly believe our value together is greater than the sum of our parts.”
Capture has raised over $6 million to date and boasts clients such as CNN, The Weather Channel and The Huffington Post.
The specific terms of the acquisition are undisclosed.
