WCTI in New Bern, NC has a job opening for a Producer #2

We're not sure what a Producer #2 does, but from reading the job description, it sounds very much like what a regular news producer does.

WCTI says in the description "Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): building newscast rundowns, writing stories with accuracy and clarity and editing video.Qualified candidates will have creative writing skills, strong attention to detail and be able to stay calm under pressure."

No mention if with hard work you can move up to Producer # 1. Also, no word if Producer # 1 is your boss.

We have no clue what a Producer # 2 is...but let's hope it doesn't have anything to do with this.

Here's a link to the job ad if you want to apply.

NBC Begs Viewers to Dump the DVR

NBC Begs Viewers to Dump the DVR

NBC wants viewers to watch their favorite NBC shows (if anyone has a favorite NBC show anymore) live and not to record it on their DVR.

At least for the May Sweeps.

The NY Daily News writes that for the past week, the Peacock Network has been promoting its shows with the puzzling tag line “Watch it live!”

At first it seemed like NBC was living on the edge, preparing to broadcast parts of its prime-time schedule the way it did during TV’s golden age more than 60 years ago — live from the studio.

Such was not the case, although for strictly selfish reasons... Find out those reasons after the leap.

CNN Sees Ratings Rise in Prime Time....But....

Screen Shot 2013-05-01 at 6.08.26 AM.png

With the April ratings CNN was up 80 percent in Prime Time.

Sounds like it is making huge gains, but then you remember that the Boston Marathon bombings happened in April and you can figure out why the Prime Time climb.

Fox News also got a bump in Prime Time (although just 9%) and to no ones surprise they won the April ratings averaging 2 million viewers.

CNN came in with 920,000 and MSNBC with 686,000.

MSNBC was the only cable net to fall in Prime Time. The network that has no real journalists on staff during the Prime Time hours, lost their way during the bombing coverage. Their PT numbers fell 10 percent.

The O'Reilly Factor was once again the king of cable news setting the pace with 3.1 million viewers.

That's a lot of hires and all in one day.

Was Curry the Source Behind Book that Slams Lauer?

Was Curry the Source Behind Book that Slams Lauer?

Was Ann Curry the secret source behind the book that slams both NBC and their star Matt Lauer?

Radar Online says that there is no revenge like a woman – or TV anchor — scorned, and  NBC executives suspect that former TODAY co-host Ann Curry may have secretly cooperated with author Brian Stelter on his shocking expose.

Stelter’s book, Top Of The Morning: Inside The World Of Cutthroat World of Morning TV, portrays Matt Lauer as the evil villain who was determined to get Ann fired from the show.

More on why they think Curry is the source after the hop.

Rob Morrison Goes Off on Newspaper

Rob Morrison and his potty mouth called the local paper and went off on them.

Former CBS News anchor Rob Morrison called the Darien Times Tuesday, using a slew of insults and profanities to express his frustration that The Times published a story that he said was “bullshit” and “completely inaccurate.”

After insulting the Times and claiming its sources “suck,” the jobless news anchor also said this newspaper was “shi***,” and was not doing its due diligence.

Morrison was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, April 30. However, the office of his attorney, Robert Skovgaard, told The Times the case was continued until May 21.

Former WCBS Anchor Rob Morrison's case is headed back to court this morning.

Morrison was arrested and then fired....errr... resigned after police arrested him for choking his wife (CBS Marketwatch Anchor Ashley Morrison).

Sincehis arrest, the court has allowed Morrison to talk to Ashley, but he is not allowed to operate a vehicle with his young son in the car.

She's Back...

She's Back...

Over a month ago FTVLive wrote:

"Maria Shriver did not leave NBC News with the words "I'll Be Back..." But it looks like she is working on making that happen."

And as we pointed out, Shriver, who left NBC News when her husband Arnold Schwarzenegger became the Governor of California (and boy toy to his maid) has been slowly wiggling her way back to the Peacock.

Word is now Shriver is going to become a "Special Anchor" for NBC News.

What exactly does a "Special Anchor" do?

Find out and what she has to say about her new job after the leap.

Which Female Network Anchor is Scared to Poop in Public?

Which Female Network Anchor is Scared to Poop in Public?

t's looks like websites are also stuck in the May Sweeps mode.

Americans were shocked to discover that one of the women they trust to deliver their morning news has, for time unknown, been delivering something else, in secret: poops, to a toilet in a far flung part of her office where she thought no one would catch her.

On Monday, the internet shat itself with glee over a Daily Beast story  detailing the lengths women go to while pooping at work to trick people into thinking they’re not pooping at work. They flush prematurely to mask the deafening *PLOP* of a single, solid turd plunging into chilled toilet water. They lose years of their lives lingering in the bathroom, waiting for the other stalls to clear out that they might shit in peace. They embark on epic journeys to distant corners of the office, and lob their shadow poops into unfamiliar porcelain bowls.

A look at who it might be after the hop

Get the Zuck out of Here!

jeff_zucker--300x300.jpg

Maybe he still thought he worked at NBC, or maybe he just wanted to poach some talent and realized MSNBC doesn't have any.

Page Six says that CNN chief Jeff Zucker was spotted arriving — and immediately leaving — the MSNBC party at the Italian Embassy in DC for the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Spies saw Zucker, who is close friends with MSNBC president  Phil Griffin, roll up to the event with his wife, Caryn, but the couple didn’t go inside, causing some onlookers to assume they were refused entry.

But other sources insisted Zucker was greeted at the entrance by a group of acquaintances who hadn’t been invited to the party. When the guests couldn’t talk their way inside, the source explained, Zucker bolted instead of trying to get them in.
