No Reese for GMA

Screen Shot 2013-04-23 at 5.04.34 AM.png

It could have been a ratings hit, Reese Witherspoon was scheduled to be on Good Morning America this week.

Normally that would not have been that big a deal, but with her recent arrest the appearance could have pulled a really good number.

Witherspoon was arrested over the Weekend when her husband got pulled over on suspicion of DUI, and she got busted for playing the “Do you KNOW who I am?” card. She wound up being arrested for disorderly conduct.

She not only canceled her appearance on GMA this week, but she flaked out on Jimmy Fallon's show as well.

It looks like Resse might be falling to pieces.

Sorry....couldn't resist.

Ann Curry Splitting Hairs

Ann Curry Splitting Hairs

Did Ann Curry cut her hair, just to piss off the bosses at NBC?

If you believe Radar Online then yes she did.

The site reports that in an act of defiance, amidst criticism by former Today bosses about her physical appearance, Ann Curry debuted a sassy much shorter hairdo on air Friday, without informing network honchos, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

Curry’s style was often maligned by Today colleagues.

Lunch is on Us

Lunch is on Us

The media folks in Boston had one hell of a week.

Covering the marathon bombings and the aftermath became a 24/7 job for many members of the media.

And while there were some mistakes, often the coverage was very good. The Boston Globe was picked out as one of those that stayed on top of the story from start to finish.

The Chicago Tribune was impressed enough with the hard working gang at The Globe that they decided to buy them lunch.

The Tribune sent dozens of pizzas to The Boston Globe newsroom and attached this note:

CNN's Self Inflicted Wound

CNN's Self Inflicted Wound

FTVLive has been reporting about CNN's colossal mistakes made during the coverage of the Boston Marathon Bombing story.

We pointed out that it could take years for CNN to recover.

It looks like the NY Times David Carr is seeing the same thing.

Carr writes that when I woke up on Friday morning and found out there was a manhunt in the Boston area for the remaining suspect in Monday’s bombing at the marathon, I turned on CNN.

It’s a common impulse, although less common than it used to be.

NY Times Pans Book by it's Own Reporter

At the half way point, we can say that we think it's a very good read, especially for people working in the crazy world of TV.

Stelter takes you behind the scenes of the Today Show debacle and tells you about how the internal politics that lead to the Today Show's fall from grace in the ratings.

FTVLive defiantly recommends "Top of the Morning" and we think you will enjoy it.

As for the NY Times (the company that Stelter works for) they panned the book.

Gina Janeiro, an attorney for Hoak Media, the defendant in the case, confirmed this afternoon that a settlement had been reached, but declined to provide details, stating that the parties would issue a joint statement later.
