A report out says that NBC has reached out to CNN's Anderson Cooper as a possible replacement for Matt Lauer on the Today Show.

Deadline writes that NBC recently reached out to

Cooper

to replace Lauer on the show before the end of the year.

After their initial approach to Cooper, Deadline hears NBC reached out to Lauer to get his blessing about the changeover. But I heard they got pushback from the

Today

veteran, who contacted Cooper to express his disapproval.

Report: Lauer Thinks he Was Set Up to Fail with Sandusky Interview

Did the Today Show staff set up Matt Lauer with the Sandusky story?

Lauer is said furious with the show’s producers for putting him back in the line of fire for airing an interview that controversial filmmaker John Ziegler did with convicted child rapist and former Penn State assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky.

At least that's what RadarOnline is reporting.

After the jump, the site claims Lauer doesn't know who he can trust anymore

Judge to consider dismissal of former Fargo anchor’s bias suit

Judge to consider dismissal of former Fargo anchor’s bias suit

It's legal case that is winding it's way through the courts in a small TV market.

But the Judge's decision could have impact on Talent suing their former stations across the country.

An attorney representing a Fargo TV station being sued by former anchorwoman Robin Huebner told a federal judge Tuesday a decision to remove Huebner from the station’s 10 p.m. newscast and replace her with a woman about half her age did not constitute age discrimination.

“Employers need to have the right to make changes,” attorney Gina Janeiro told U.S. District Court Judge Ralph Erickson.

Just Like That, Dallas Reporter is Gone

You always wonder what the real story is behind the story when someone leaves a station?

Down in Dallas, KXAS Reporter Ellen Goldberg is leaving the station after 6 years.

Not that big a deal, people come and go at stations all the time. But, when they are leaving to "pursue other opportunities" it always sends up a red flag.

Goldberg said in a message to staffers “After 6 great years, I have decided to leave KXAS to pursue other opportunities,.”

Pelley Pulls in More Viewers

It's been a slow climb from the ratings basement and there's a long way still to go, but Scott Pelley and the CBS Evening News has quietly gone from laughing stock to respectable.

Many would argue that CBS has been doing the best evening newscast for quite some time, but it's really just now starting to show up in the ratings.

Last week, the CBS Evening News 600,000 viewers compared to the same week last year.

Mayor Bloomberg Thinks Rupert Should Stop Tweeting

NY Mayor Michael Bloomberg has some advice for Rupert Murdoch...shut down your Twitter account.

At a press conference about a racist firefighter that is in hot water for tweeting, the mayor spoke more broadly about social networking:

"Number one, I don't understand why people don't understand that anything you write, anything you send out, is gonna be retweeted, re-Facebooked, re-this, re-that," said the 71-year-old billionaire.

CNN Tests Show with Anderson Cooper - Kathy Griffin

You might no longer have to wait for News Year's Eve to watch Kathy Griffin Strip down to her underwear or simulate oral sex on Anderson Cooper.

FTVLive hears that Yesterday at CNN's NY Headquarters, Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin did a secret pilot taping of what could be a new show on the struggling network.

We hear that CNN boss Jeff Zucker was at the taping and so was a live studio audience (as opposed to a dead studio audience).

CNN's John King Slams His Own Network

CNN's John King Slams His Own Network

CNN's John King slammed his own network saying basically from morning to Noon there is nothing worth watching and the same news you get from CNN, you already got on your phone.

Now, you have to remember that Jeff Zucker is planning on blowing up the mornings (again) and putting a new show in it's spot, but I'm still not sure he can be happy with King blasting CNN.

By the way, John King's show has never really been a barn burner either. Maybe it's the old "those in glass houses...." analogy that King should be paying attention to.

OH NO! Katie Couric has Crossed Over

OH NO! Katie Couric has Crossed Over

Every time I go into a casino and look at the slot machine players, I'm shocked at how old these people are.

I would say that the average age of a casino slot player is...dead.

I watched two women playing slots at The Wynn, both were on breathing machines and looked like they had been dead for 5 years and somebody forgot  to tell them.

It's hard to picture our beloved Katie Couric as an 85 year old grandma.

But this picture shot of Couric Today in Las Vegas, is making us wonder if Katie has crossed over to "old lady" status.

Time to go into the FTVLive email account for another installment of "What's Up with you Dude?"

Email 1 - Just found your website and it has quickly become my new favorite site. Can I ask what company owns you?

Scott: First off, glad you love FTVLive.com and second, sure you can ask. FTVLive is owned by no company and is completely independent. Although Roger Ailes does send us some hush money each month not to report that he's a foundering member of the Jon Stewart fan club.

Who's the cutest TV News Couple? Why hasn't the News Director contacted me back? And what sites does FTVLive surf? These question after the Jump in ScottLand

Do you Think NBC is regretting that Sandusky Segment?

Do you Think NBC is regretting that Sandusky Segment?

Poor NBC and the Today Show, it seems now a days they can't win for losing.

At the end of last week, NBC was teasing that they would have the first interview with the Pervert from Penn State, Jerry Sandusky on Monday.

Well it turned out it wasn't exactly what NBC and the Today Show had teased.

And then after the whole thing hit air, you might guess that NBC wishes it never did.

NBC never talked to Sandusky, it was documentary filmmaker John Ziegler that did.

And it was Ziegler that appeared with Matt Lauer on Today.

By most accounts the interview was a disaster and was just another black eye for Today.

Ziegler himself said that it didn't come off very well and he puts all the blame on NBC.

What he has to say about the Today Interview after the Jump
