CBS Corp. on Thursday reported results for the fourth quarter and full year ended Dec. 31, 2012, that included Local Broadcasting revenues (which includes CBS Radio) of $787 million, up 9% from $721 million for the same prior-year period, reflecting higher political advertising and retransmission revenues. CBS Television Stations revenues increased 17%, while CBS Radio revenues were up 1%.

Syracuse University men’s basketball coach Jim Boeheim stole some of the spotlight following his team’s loss to UConn Wednesday night in Hartford when he called an ESPN reporter an “idiot.”

When ESPN’s Andy Katz asked the Hall of Fame coach about the series between the Orange and Huskies, traditionally two of the Big East Conference top teams, Boeheim responded: 

“I’ll answer anybody’s question but yours, because you’re an idiot and really a disloyal person.”

KTTV and KCOP decided to ditch the Slain Police Officer's Funeral for The Wendy Williams Show and TMZ.

The LA Times writes that the funeral of slain Riverside police Officer Michael Crain was broadcast live by almost all local broadcast stations as they preempted several hours of regular programming for the poignant, tearful ceremony attended by hundreds of mourners and several law enforcement agencies.

The burned remains found in a California mountain cabin have been positively identified as fugitive former police officer Christopher Dorner bringing to end one of the biggest stories in recent memory for LA stations.

Dorner died after a stand off with police in a cabin near Big Bear, California.

The shootout raised the ratings of LA stations by more than double.

KCBS Reporter Carter Evans can out as the stand off as the TV News Star, when he was caught in the middle of the gunfire between Dorner and the cops.

Former Dallas TV journalist Rebecca Rodriguez will get to work normal hours and she'll make over $150 grand a year (makes you rethink that TV career, doesn't it?)

She is the new communications chief for Dallas School District.

The Dallas Morning News says that Rodriguez, who currently works for the city of Arlington as marketing communications manager, will begin on March 1. Her base salary is $155,000, and she could earn more in bonus money for meeting certain performance targets. Details of the bonus plan have not yet been provided.

Then you might want to keep your eyes on a New York Courtroom.

The Hollywood Reporter writes that on Monday, a jury heard opening arguments in Dish Network's lawsuit against ESPN for allegedly breaching the terms of a licensing agreement. The satellite company is claiming more than $150 million in damages emanating from the Disney-owned sports division's deals with other pay-TV distributors like Comcast, DirecTV and TIme Warner Cable.

She sat down and watched the morning newscasts across the channel spectrum with an eye for Valentine's Day fashions.

Barr reports most of our gorgeous ladies of television were wearing red to "surprising" subdued pink. KPRC 2 traffic guru Jennifer Reyna even threw in some red jewelry.
