Thanks to the DNC in Philly, CNN is walking away a winner in the demo ratings for July in primetime. 

This is the 3rd time this year that CNN has won the primetime demo. Fox News has topped the demos the other months. 

Despite Fox News falling to last place during the DNC, the network still won the total ratings of the two conventions combined. 

Looking at the 8 days of both conventions, FNC pulled in just under 4,5 million total viewers. CNN finished second with 4.3 million and MSNBC was well back at 2.8 million. Those figure are according to Nielsen. 

MSNBC did get a big bump at the DNC, placing in front of Fox News, which is a rare occurrence for the last place cable news net.
