A TV News Gimmick that is Actually Useful
TV stations love breaking out the bells and whistles and trying to fool viewers into believing that their gimmicks are actually useful.
The storm vehicles that stations are adding are one of the gimmicks that is all hype. It's an SUV with a fancy name and some blinking lights, we get it.
But, KWTV in Oklahoma City has added a new gimmick their their news and weather coverage that seems like it might be worth it.
The station has added StreetScope technology to their news chopper.
StreetScope overlays maps in real time over the live footage from the station's chopper.
The station did a package on the new technology and we have to say this is one gimmick that we like.
