Racist Woman Goes Off on Iowa Reporter
KCCI Reporter Emmy Victor was trying to do her job, reporting from the scene of an officer-involved shooting in Boone, Iowa.
While she was doing that, a woman got in Victor's face and stated screaming racial slurs and, at one point, grabbing her.
Victor stayed professional and maintained poise during the ordeal. Photog Zachary Hayes continued to roll while the racist ranted.
The woman was identified as the mother of the man who was shot by officers on Monday night. Police were originally called to the scene after receiving reports of a man “threatening people with a gun.” When they arrived, the suspect drew a firearm from his waistband and refused to drop it.
In other words, what a great family they have there.
KCCI General Manager Brian Sather released a statement about the incident: “The safety of our crews is critically important as they cover stories affecting our communities. This morning Emmy and Zach demonstrated the utmost professionalism in the face of a very difficult, emotionally-charged situation.”
