Wendy Bell Throws Former Co-Workers Under the Bus in Lawsuit

FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that former Pittsburgh Anchor Wendy Bell was suing her station, after they fired her for a racist Facebook post.

Bell's lawyer claims that if Bell was black, she never would have been fired. Since WTAE does not have a main female news Anchor that is black, I guess it could be argued that if she was black, she never would have been hired in the first place.

Of course, that is a bit of semantics, but since she and her lawyer are playing the game, we'll play along as well.

But, what is really bad is that Bell and her attorney are throwing some of Bell's former co-workers under the bus in their lawsuit.

Bell claimed to be good friends with WTAE Sports Director Andrew Stockey, so many were surprised when her lawyer drove the bus right over Stockey.

In his filing of Bell's lawsuit, her lawyer says, "For example, Defendant’s African American Sports Director, and 5 p.m. news anchor, Andrew Stockey was not disciplined at all for making lewd comments to interns, conduct that resulted in the termination of Defendant’s internship program in its news department."

But, it didn't end with just the black Anchor, Bell and her attorney rolled right over Sports Anchor Guy Junker as well, who is white: "Another reporter, Guy Junker, was arrested for propositioning an undercover police officer, an arrest that caused significant undue publicity, and was “inconsistent with [Defendant’s] ethics.” Defendant did not even discipline Junker, much less fire him."

Here's the kicker, when Junker was arrested he didn't even work for WTAE or a Hearst station. It seems Bell did not worry about the facts while filing her lawsuit.

Staffers that supported Bell at WTAE, now say they can not do so. "To throw both Andrew and Guy under the bus is unacceptable," said one WTAE staffer to FTVLive.

Another staffer says she "was stupid" for supporting Bell and is no longer doing so.

Bell has taken to writing sappy stories to Facebook that her supporters just eat up. She still believes that her racist Facebook post was fine.

She is suing for her job back, back pay and legal fees.

No word if the lawyer will charge for the bus he used to run over her former co-workers.
