Dumping the Story (you see what I did There?)

KPHO has yet to report on the arrest of their Reporter Jonathan Lowe.

FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that Lowe was arrested by Goodyear, AZ Police after they said he took a dump in a residents yard.

The Goodyear Police did send FTVLive Lowe's mugshot (see above and side) after he was booked under Goodyear code violation 11-1-30, "public urination or defecation," a Class 1 misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to $2,500 or six months in jail.

FTVLive posted an exclusive picture of Lowe's arrest and although Phoenix station's had video of the arrest, none of them chose to run the story. That include's Lowe's own station, KPHO.

"Without a police report, we are waiting to make editorial decisions based on more information, and so we're looking for that information," KPHO News Director Dan Wilson tells the Phoenix New Times.

Really? Dose KPHO always wait for the police report, before reporting on an arrest? It can take days for an FOI request to be granted.

Again, we will bet that if the Phoenix Mayor was arrested for pooping in someone's yard and KPHO had video of the arrest, they would run the story before getting their hands on the report.

KPHO wasn't the only station to spike the story, KNXV and KPNX also chose not to report the news of the Reporter's arrest.

All stations talked about it in editorial meetings, but not one made the decision to air the story.

Lowe remains employed at KPHO.
