Network News EP Moving To Entertainment
The EP of CBS This Morning, is going to have to change his alarm clock.
Christ Licht, who's credited with taking the morning show to its best ratings in three decades, will become the showrunner for the The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. In addition, Licht is also getting the title of Executive Vice President of Special Programming for all of CBS.
At the same time, Ryan Kadro has been named EP of CBS This Morning. Kadro has been with the program since 2011. He'll report directly to CBS News Prexy, David Rhodes. Kadro started his career as a page at NBC.
FTVLive has the internal memo from Rhodes to the staff this AM:

Ryan Kadro will be Executive Producer of “CBS This Morning”—moving up from co-Executive Producer. Chris Licht is staying in the CBS family—becoming Executive Producer of the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
We all know Ryan well. He’s been an important part of CTM since the very beginning -- before the launch, even. He was part of the team that pulled together to launch the show in January 2012. Ryan has influenced every aspect of the program, and I’ve come to depend upon him as a steady presence in and out of the control room each morning. We’ll be working together even more closely now that he will have sole responsibility for each broadcast.
CBS News was fortunate to have Ryan already in a co-EP role when this terrific opportunity came along for Chris. We’ll have a seamless transition, extend our viewer gains in the morning, and further distinguish our morning show because of the fantastic staff that puts on a great broadcast every day.
I want to thank Chris for all that he has contributed since coming to the news division when this was all very new five years ago—he has a great new adventure ahead of him and it’s a wonderful reflection on the momentum at CBS This Morning that he has been chosen for this assignment.
Please take a moment to congratulate Ryan and Chris on these new roles—this all starts Monday.
