FTVLive was the FIRST to tell you that WTAE in Pittsburgh had decided to cut ties with longtime Anchor Wendy Bell after her Facebook post that many, including her station, found offensive. 

The station sacked Bell yesterday but refused to comment on the matter.

But, the Wendy Bell storm is just starting for WTAE. You can expect protests, petitions and a lot of social media postings by viewers, demanding that Bell gets her job back.

Of course, there is no chance of Bell coming back, but it still won't stop loyal Bell fans from trying. 

Bell's Facebook page is no more, but FB pages to bring back Bell and boycott WTAE have already sprung up. 

Bottom line, WTAE made the right call.

Yes, they are going to be dealing with this for some time, but eventually it will die down and life will go on. If Bell would have stayed at the station, it is something that WTAE would have been dealing with for years. 

The wounds with the Black community would have never fully healed and any incident would have opened them right back up. 

5 years from now, people will still be making jokes each time Brian Williams comes on the air at MSNBC or NBC. WTAE would have been dealing with the same thing with Bell. 

NBC should have cut ties with Williams, WTAE did the right thing with Bell. 

"They made the right call on this," said one top TV Agent to FTVLive. 

Bell made a brief comment to the AP, which basically seem to say that she was pulling back on her apology for what she wrote. Bell claims she didn't get a "fair shake" from the station, and that the story was not about her, but about "African-Americans being killed by other African-Americans." It should be pointed out that at this point police have still not said that the killers in the Wilkinsburg have not been identified and their race is not known. 

"It makes me sick," she told The Associated Press when reached at her home on Wednesday. "What matters is what's going on in America, and it is the death of black people in this country. ... I live next to three war-torn communities in the city of Pittsburgh, that I love dearly. My stories, they struck a nerve. They touched people, but it's not enough. More needs to be done. The problem needs to be addressed."

There is no doubt that Bell put a black eye on the Hearst owned station that might take months or years to heal. But in the end, the station made the right move in giving Bell the blade. 

Now, we will still back and wait for the hate email to roll in. 

Speaking of which, here is one letter that I'm guessing a viewer meant to send to WTAE, but sent to FTVLive instead. 

Never again will I watch any of your newscasts for your ridiculous kneejerk, bow to the racial terrorists, reaction to Ms. Bell's honest, forthright reporting of the Wilkinsburg story on your network.  Your tv ststion, like most all of the others in this formally great nation,  simply cannot face truth whenever the subject of race is brought up in the news.  " Never tell the truth" if the truth is going to hurt your ratings.  Must never say anything negative about blacks, true or not.  These complaining " race terrorists " commented that what Wendy said " seemed " to be racist.  And why?  Because what she said cast black people in a bad light, according to THEIR opinion.  All she did was speak the truth.  Wwll guess what, these people can't handle the truth.  And apparently, neither can your station's exec's.  Money talks, as usual.  Congratulations, WTAE,  you are no different than the rest of the station's.  And GOODBYE!!! Trump 2016!
