Rochester News Director: I took a Big Risk this Morning
Chris Ford says that after 2 years as News Director at WHEC in Rochester, NY, he's done.
Ford took to social media to announce that he is leaving the Hubbard owned station. He doesn't have anything lined up yet, but many expect that not to last long.
Here is what he wrote:
I took a big risk this morning, and I'd be lying if I told you I wasn't a little scared about it. After just over two years as News Director, I have turned in my notice here at WHEC.
Nicole and I have had a long talk about our future, and we've decided that the best opportunities for both our careers may lie somewhere else down the road. We honestly haven't decided where we're headed next. There are a few things I am already considering, and I'm also looking to see what else is out there.
The scary part comes from turning in my notice without having the next job lined up. I've never done that before. Nicole and the kids are counting on me to pull this off, and you know that they're always my first concern.
Wish me luck, everybody. If you see a gig out there that you think might be a good fit for me, let me know. It never hurts to have more irons in the fire!
I'm so grateful to my family and friends, and for the connections i've made along the way. You help me remember that the best is yet to come!
