Former Alaska Reporter Headed to Prison
A former Alaska Reporter is headed to prison, but it's not quite what you think.
The Alaska Corrections Department has hire former television reporter Corey Allen Young to begin working as a department spokesperson.
Young spent 11 years working in TV in Alaska. He worked in Fairbanks, Bethel and Anchorage, he reported for KTVA-TV and KTUU-TV.
He most recently worked as communications manager for Catholic Social Services, a nonprofit organization that serves the homeless.
“I am thrilled to have a former journalist join our team,” Commissioner Dean Williams said. “As we work to increase safety within our facilities and reduce recidivism, Corey will play a key role in communicating all of our efforts to the public and within the department. Corey has spent countless hours volunteering to help others in the community, and has a true heart and passion for service.”
BTW - Is it me or does it appear that the Alaska DOC took Young's picture with the same camera they use to book inmates?
