A news crew from KGTV in San Diego were badly injured when a tree fall on them as they were covering the aftermath on a storm.

Reporter Marie Coronel and Photographer Mike Gold were covering the story of anumber of trees that were downed in the storm.

The station says that Gold managed to call 911 for help. He suffered a compound leg fracture and was undergoing surgery Monday morning.

KGTV reports that Coronel was seriously injured and will require surgery.

The news team was doing live reports for the morning newscasts when the accident happened.
