Changing Channels in Indianapolis

After almost 25 years, Indianapolis Anchor Bob Donaldson has signed off from WXIN Fox59 in Indianapolis.

But, Donaldson isn't going far.

Donaldson anchored his last newscast at Fox59, but will now pop up on WTTV as the Anchor of the , 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts with Debby Knox.

So, how can an Anchor move to another station in the same market, without having to sit out a non-compete and have the old station promote the move to the new station?

It's easy, both stations are owned by Tribune.

Donaldson has been at Fox59 since 1991, he now crosses the street to the new CBS affiliate in town and doesn't miss a beat.

“Being part of the launch of the new CBS4 provides just another opportunity to duplicate the success we all achieved at FOX59. I couldn’t be happier to make the switch and take on a new challenge,” said Donaldson.

The good news, he doesn't have to roll over his 401K

He tweeted last night about his move:
