6 months ago, WJTV (Jackson, Miss.) Anchor Erin Pickens signed off from the station.

No word as to why she left and WJTV would only say, "we wish her the best in all of her future endeavors."

Well, 6 months to the day, WAPT the station across the street announced that Pickens is joining their station as Morning Anchor starting Today. 

Looks like Pickens was sitting out a non-compete. 

“It’s a major shift in the Jackson TV world.” 16 WAPT News Director Ben Hart said. “Ratings show Erin Pickens has been a viewer favorite in the Jackson TV landscape for more than a decade.

WAPT says that Pickens has been working at the station "behind the scenes" for a while now.

Oh yeah...it was defiantly a non compete.
