Longtime Mississippi Reporter in Critical Condition
Longtime WAPT (Jackson, Miss) Reporter Bert Case is hospitalized in critical condition after falling ill on Monday.
Case, who has been on the air for 50 years is fighting a bout with a "nasty" sepsis infection according to his wife Mary.
He was talking Tuesday but was "fighting," 16 WAPT News Director Ben Hart said.
Case recently celebrated 50 years in broadcasting. His career started in 1960 on the radio in Memphis. Case went on to become the first news director and anchor at 16 WAPT. He worked for WLBT for a number of years before returning to 16 WAPT News.
