Last quarter, the pay TV industry lost 566,000 subscribers, making it the worst second quarter net loss in history for the nation's pay TV industry. 

Those losses come on the heels of a 321,000 subscriber net loss the quarter before. In other words pay TV has lost almost a million subscribers in the past 6 months. 

Viewers are sick of being forced to pay for countless channels they don't watch and paying higher prices as networks and station groups demand higher retransmission fees.

It appears the TV industry may have cooked the golden goose.
