KTXL in Sacramento has hired Ty Steele as the newest member of its evening anchor team.

In addition to anchoring 2 ½ hours of FOX40 newscasts each weeknight, Steele will also produce enterprise and investigative special reports. “I’m looking forward to joining the FOX40 News Team,” said Steele. He added, “Northern California is such a terrific news market and I like the way FOX40 really lives up to the “News That Matters” brand, covering hard-hitting stories, getting out there in the community and talking to real people. To me, being a journalist is about living with integrity, seeking truth and telling the stories that really matter to my community. I feel blessed to be able to do what I love for a living in northern California. Sacramento, I can’t wait to help tell your stories!”
Steele comes to FOX40 from KMTR-TV, the NBC affiliate in Eugene, Oregon, where he’s been the Evening Anchor.
FOX40 Vice President and News Director Ed Chapuis said, “Ty is a dynamic addition to our news team. He brings freshness and energy with solid journalism to FOX40. Ty and Stefanie Cruz will make a great anchor team. We’re happy to have him coming on board to FOX40.”
