ABC News Anchor George Stephanopoulos says he's sorry for not telling his bosses that he gave , $75,000 in donations to the Clinton Foundation.

When the story first broke, Stephanopoulos said he had donated a total of $50,000 to the foundation. But, later in the day, he said he'd forgotten about a third donation of $25,000, bringing the total to $75,000.

I just hope that someday, I make enough money that I can just forget about giving away $25 grand. 

Stephanopoulos was slated to moderate a Republican presidential primary debate early next year. He has now said that he will NOT be doing that. 

"I don't want to be a distraction," he said.

Ummmmm....it's a little late for that George.
