WPEC (West Palm Beach) Anchor John Discepolo has been off the air since October 15th and just spent the past 6 days in ICU.

 Discepolo caught a rare nerve disorder that, in some cases, can be fatal. Doctors say that  Discepolo 

is suffering from Guillain-Barre Syndrome, where his immune system started attacking his nervous system. In the worst cases, patients die when their lungs stop working.

How the disease starts is unclear, but Discepolo’s missus says it could be when the anchorman caught a stomach bug from one of their two children.

Discepolo was moved to a regular hospital room yesterday and thankfully his prognosis for a full recovery is good.

 Discepolo experienced progressive paralysis of his limbs, and even fell while carrying the couple’s two-year-old child when his legs just stopped working his wife Shay said. 

“It was scary for a while because nobody seemed to be able to tell us what was going on," Shay Morgan-Discepolo told Gossip Extra. 

Discepolo is expected to be released from the hospital later this week but will have to undergo what’s expected to be several weeks of physical therapy. He is likely to miss most newscasts during the November book.
