One Buffalo Anchor is starting off the new year with a promotion.

WIVB Anchor Nalina Shapiro has been bumped up the food chain and will now anchor the station's 5:30 p.m. newscast weekdays and the 10 p.m. newscast on sister station WNLO.

Shapiro replacing Anchor Diana Fairbanks, who left the station more than six months ago to return to Traverse City for a PR job.

Shapiro arrived at WIVB right out of Franklin Pierce College. The Lin station has been cutting staff and hiring cheap for quite some time.
