A big Anchor Change is going down in Boston.

WBZ has announced: Kathryn Hauser (pictured) joins the station to anchor its weekday morning and noon newscasts. Hauser is coming to Boston from News 12 Connecticut. She’s been a morning anchor at that Cablevision-owned station, which is primarily viewed in Fairfield County, since 2009. Before her time at News 12, she was a reporter at Fox23 News in Albany.

The Boston Business Journal writes that with longtime anchor Jack Williams’ pending retirement at the end of the month, WBZ-TV is shuffling the decks. Paula Ebben and Jonathan Elias, who are now a team at the 5 p.m. slot, will co-anchor the 6 p.m. news slot at WBZ-TV as well as the 10 p.m. news slot at sister station myTV38 (WSBK-TV).

Lisa Hughes, who has been paired with Williams in the 6 p.m. slot and Elias in the 11 p.m. slot, moves to co-anchor the 5 p.m. news with David Wade, who currently co-anchors the morning show with Kate Merrill and the noon show with Ebben. (The Boston Herald is reporting that Merrill will remain at the station but have a different job once Hauser arrives to take over the morning show.) Hughes and Wade will also co-anchor the 11 p.m. news in the new lineup. The changes are scheduled to take effect on Monday.
