Back on the Air in Salt Lake City
Back in October of 2008, FTVLive told you that KTVX in Salt Lake City had yanked longtime news anchor Randall Carlisle off the air.
The station decided not to renew his contract and never gave a reason as to why.
Fast forward to 2014 and who does KTVX hire as they new Anchor?
Randall Carlisle.
Carlisle will anchor and lead ABC4 Utah’s weekend newscasts beginning May 10th.
“It’s great to have a journalist of Randall’s depth, experience and quality added to our Good4Utah news team,” says Richard Doutre` Jones, ABC4 Utah and CW30 Vice President and General Manager. “His love for Utah and his passion and feel for the news is truly genuine.”
“Randall is one of the best journalists I’ve had the pleasure to work alongside. He’s great under pressure,” says George Severson, ABC4 Utah and CW30 News Director. “Having him back in the newsroom and behind the weekend news desk is really a good thing for Utah viewers. Randall’s presence on the weekend news reflects our commitment to providing accurate, engaging and fair news coverage for all Utahns.”
Sounds like the station is really excited to have Carlisle at the station. So why the hell did they sack him in the first place?
Gots to love TV news.
