Jury Deliberates Former NY Anchor's Fate
It's in the hands of the Jury now.
APP.com says that a jury in northern New Jersey is deliberating the fate of a New York City television reporter charged with sexual assault on a child.
Charles Leaf’s trial began last month in Hackensack. The former WNYW Fox 5 reporter was arrested in 2010 and charged with several offenses including aggravated sexual assault on a 4-year-old girl at his home. He’s also charged with possession of child pornography.
Jurors began deliberating Yesterday. The girl testified during the trial and said her baby sitter coached her into making the allegations. Leaf also testified and denied the charges.
The aggravated sexual assault charge carries a maximum 20-year prison sentence.
Leaf’s father-in-law testified that he, and not Leaf, viewed child pornography on Leaf’s computer.
