Today Show Dumps Actress Interview After She Wouldn't Talk About Sony Hack
Word is that Actress Amy Adams Today Show interview was scrapped when she refused to answer questions about the Sony Hacking scandal.
The actress was embroiled in the Sony scare when it was revealed she was paid less than her "American Hustle: co-stars in the movie.
Page Six says that Adams, who was booked on yesterday's “Today” Monday to promote the movie "Big Eyes" was in the show’s green room when she was told she would be asked to comment on the Sony hack.
A source said, “Amy said she didn’t want to contribute to the media coverage of it . . . then she was abruptly told that her interview with ‘Today’ was canceled. She was shocked and upset.”
The source added that Cooper had appeared on “Today” for his new movie "American Sniper" but was not asked about Sony.
But another source insists five-time Oscar nominee and Golden Globe winner Adams “was angry and acting belligerent, she was yelling at ‘Today’ producers, and reduced a young female staffer to tears.”
The source added, “Part of the episode was caught on tape.”
The situation prompted numerous calls Monday between Harvey Weinstein, who is distributing “Big Eyes,” and “Today” exec Don Nash.
A Today rep declined to comment.
A TWC rep said, “We asked for tapes, NBC eyewitnesses who were there, NBC refused to give any information, we would happily finance an internal investigation to get to the bottom of this because we have no doubt Amy handled herself as a professional.”
An NBC rep said, “As a news program, the ‘Today’ show doesn’t allow guests to put restrictions on interviews. In this case, after hours of discussion we felt uncomfortable with the demands being made and we determined the best course of action for all parties involved was to cancel the interview.”
