It's The Next Trial of the Century

Police Officers in Sanford, Florida have been told they can't take any time off.

Why?

Because the next "trial of the century" is taking place in their backyard.

Jury selection begins next week in the trial of George Zimmerman. Zimmerman shot and killed teenager Trayvon Martin. He has been charged with second-degree murder in the 17-year-old's death. Zimmerman is claiming it was self defense.

The media is already claiming their spots near the Seminole County Courthouse.

Police have bumped up patrols. “Through whenever the trial is complete, there are plans that are in place. Again, because of the sensitivity of the plans I can’t release that information,” said Sanford Police Chief Cecil Smith.

The media won't have far to look for good soundbites. Several areas across Sanford will be designated for protestors.

Jury selection could take up to 3 weeks, which would mean the trial will get underway in time for the July sweeps.

Nancy Grace and her gang of hooligans from HLN are expected to out in force in central Florida.

Local stations in Orlando have held several news staff meetings to map out secret games plans as to how they will cover the trial.

It's going to big the biggest trial ever....well...until the next one.
