Breaking the Bond with Breaking News
WDRB in Louisville is doing away with "breaking news"...because let's be honest, breaking news is rarely ever breaking and often times it's not even news.
While stations have basically broken the "breaking news" model, WDRB has decided to go the other way and never have breaking news on their air.
The station brags in a new promo they they won't "break news" anymore. Let's cue up the video:
At WDRB News we believe the term 'Breaking News' is a marketing ploy to convince you that a television station is better at bringing you news first, as it happens. The problem is it's just not true. 'Breaking News' is seldom actually breaking, and quite often isn't even news.
