Wendy Chioji returns to host a second "Surviving & Thriving" special at 8 p.m. Friday on WKMG-Channel 6.

The inspirational programs salute people who have overcome health crises. 

Chioji, who departed WESH-Channel 2 in 2008 after 20 years, is a cancer survivor who shared her battle with the public. WKMG anchors Lauren Rowe and Gaard Swanson join Chioji as hosts.

The "Surviving & Thriving" programs come from the team behind the nationally syndicated "Growing Bolder" series with backing from WKMG and MD Anderson Cancer Center Orlando.

The programs reunite Chioji with former WESH colleagues Marc Middleton and Bill Shafer, who are executives in Bolder Broadcasting Inc.
