Face the Nation Tops Ratings

While Meet the Press host David Gregory was more worried about who was parking in front of his hose, Bob Schieffer was pulling some of his best ratings this year over on Face the station.

CBS says that  Face the Nation is the #1 Sunday morning public affairs show. FTN placed first in adults 25-54 – the demographic most important to those who advertise in News – viewers and households on Sunday, April 7.

The CBS broadcast posted 0.7/03 in adults 25-54 with 3.26m viewers and 2.4/06 in households, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings. FTN also posted its best deliveries in both households and viewers since Feb. 17.

Season-to-date, FTN is up +8% in viewers (3.23m from 2.99m), +10% in households (2.3/06 from 2.1/06) and even in adults 25-54 (0.8/03) compared to last year. Season-to-date, FTN is first in adults 25-54 (tied with NBC), viewers and households (tied with NBC) among the Sunday morning public affairs programs.

On the broadcast, Bob Schieffer interviewed Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) and Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY). He also spoke with former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright and CBS News State Department Correspondent Margaret Brennan about the situation in North Korea. Schieffer hosted a political roundtable with journalist and author Blaine Harden, Wall Street Journal’s Washington Bureau Chief Gerald Seib, CBS News Chief White House Correspondent Major Garrett and CBS News Congressional Correspondent Nancy Cordes.
