Ex-Houston Reporter to Run for School Board
It might be back to school for a Former KTRK Reporter.
Former KTRK (Channel 13) reporterWayne Dolcefino, longtime scourge of public officials in his role as Channel 13's "Undercover" investigative reporter, is throwing his hat in the ring as a school board candidate in Katy.
The Houston Chronicle writes that Dolcefino has filed as a candidate for theKaty Independent School Board position held by four-time chairman Joe Adams, a member of the board since 1989. Dolcefino said he chose to file for Adams' seat rather than an open one because of the length of Adams' tenure.
"I was attracted to that position because I think one of the problems in government is that people seem to think that these are lifelong positions, and they shouldn't be," Dolcefino said. "I'm sure (Adams is) a great guy, but maybe he keeps running every time because he doesn't think anybody else can do the job or wants to do the job. I'm here to tell him that I'll do the job and if he wants to step aside and help me bring some new blood, I'll be more than happy to accept his help."
