The LA stations got a huge ratings bump while covering the Police standoff with Christopher Dorner.

Some stations saw their ratings double and online traffic was through the roof. KCBS, who had the best coverage, saw a huge ratings bump.

But the bump turned out to be short lived.

By the next day, KCBS's 5pm news was back to being beaten in the demo by several stations, including Fox 11's year old Studio 11 LA.

Insiders are watching this time slot closely because the 5pm KTTV show is co-anchored by Laura Diaz, formerly of KCBS's 5pm news.

Word is that Diaz really wants to beat her old station.
